Plot[]

Intro[]

After Dokgo Ryong passed away, Gang Ryong immediately headed to the Middle Kingdom to carry out his will, equipped with several weapons on his back. He cried out that he will avenge his master and appease his angry soul before Yerin, who served him dumplings stated that they're dead. Gang, confused, asked for clarification. She then goes on to say that after the Heavenly Destroyer's disappearance, the Four Heavenly Kings fought among themselves to decide the new leader and wound up killing themselves and disbanding the Heavenly Destruction Sect. She later stated that the incident was so notorious that, despite occurring prior to her birth, everyone in the Gangho knew about it. She then insinuated that, despite carrying a sword, his lack of knowledge implies that he was training in a cave for all these years.

Between these events...

In her second meeting with Gang Ryong, she sat on top of a rock and questioned who he was and why he was crying as he desperately tried to wash his hands of blood after slaughtering a group of murderers. She then offered to erase those painful memories for him and it is assumed that Gang agreed to it.[2]

One year later, having hired Gang Ryong, Song Chohyang told him to go deliver the dumplings to a group that had already left. After arriving back at the tavern, he was immediately called out for fighting by Chohyang after she saw his bloody nose, but Gang fruitlessly tried to deny it. Yerin then commented that he should at least win if he was going to fight, but Gang continued to deny everything.

At some point, the renowned assassin, Myo Cheong, was hired by a woman to kill Song Chohyang for wooing her husband. At the tavern, Chohyang scolded Gang for eating leftovers before telling him and Yerin that she was seeing someone and would be back the next day. After making his last delivery in town, Gang saw Chohyang and hid away, but also noticed a strange man following her. Later that night, a dressed up Chohyang and her date flirt while Myo Cheong the assassin watched on in disgust. Myo Cheong readied to kill her but Gang took him down, inadvertently destroying the eatery in the process. With all the people climbing on board a ship, Chohyang bid her date farewell but he failed to recognise her because her makeup had been washed off. Chohyang attacked Gang in annoyance and threatened to tell Yerin what Gang had been up to until he bribed her with a well-aged wine.

Rock-Paper-Scissors[]

As Gang Ryong went out for a delivery, Chohyang wondered if it was Lord Nam who ordered so many dumplings and Yerin confirmed it was.

After Gang dealt with the White Skulls bandits and Wang Ahk, the news of the White Skulls capture was discussed by some customers in the tavern. Overhearing them, Yerin used it to prove to Chohyang that Gang hadn't been involved (winning her some coin).

Song Yerin[]

After spooking away some customers, Yerin overhears talk about the Hong Family manor being haunted by the spirit of Lord Hong Daun. Bribing Gang Ryong into taking her there, they head off and eventually arrived at the manor. Leaving Gang to his devices, Yerin found a secret chest and told Lord Hong that she'd take care of it. With Gang finding Yerin again and the manor's haunting having been solved, they headed back to the tavern with Gang learning that Yerin wasn't Chohyang's birth daughter. With Gang opening up the chest and getting engrossed in the tomes inside, Yerin came over and caught him reading erotic illustrations. Taking away the tomes and burning them, she exclaimed that all men were the same.

Soh Jinhong, the Rosy-Cheeked Sword Fiend[]

With an assassin after Myeongjeong, Gang Ryong continued to keep an eye on the Elder, having not slept for days. Yerin and Chohyang wondered if there was anything wrong with him and Gang denied it.

The Baekma Valley[]

Some time later, Gha Woobok's son came running to the tavern, eyes full of tears, and informed Gang Ryong that his father had been taken by the Baekma Valley. Chohyang tried to make a bet with Yerin on whether Gang would deal with the Baekma Valley with force or not, but Yerin refused by saying betting with family was a no-no.

After Gang Ryong successfully brought Woobok home, days go by as Chohyang and Yerin ran the tavern between them. Chohyang then wondered when Ryong would wake up again, noting it was terrifying to think what he could have done over there for him to be sleeping for so many days. In the morning, Gang Ryong noticed Chohyang was awake and she mentioned how it was nice to see him sweep the yard after all this time. Ryong was unaware of the amount of time he was sleeping, comically infuriating Chohyang. However Yerin told her to drop it. Ryong then asked for a favour and Chohyang immediately recognised it as him asking for another advance.

Doh Gyeom, the Iron Lion[]

Yerin asked Chohyang where Ryong was and she told her he was on a delivery. Sighing and saying she was going, Yerin left causing Chohyang to wonder if it was "that" again. On her way, Yerin bumped into a man who asked if she knew of a righteous warrior who saved his sister, although after asking of the warrior's name he replied it was "Bothersome" apparently. After asking for direction to Yellow Rock Village, Yerin showed him how to get there and he thanked her, saying he won't forget her kindness.

Yerin then arrives at a household where the father was vehemently against the marriage of his son to his fiancé. Yerin then revealed the truth about the two lovebirds' lineages via the spirit that was pestering her before exiting the premises, leaving the household in a state of 'familial' disarray. On her way back, Yerin bumped into the man again and find out he still hadn't arrived at Yellow Rock Village. Irritated, Yerin once again told him the way, with him thanking her, before leaving. Exhaling exasperatedly, she returned only to find him not there. Believing him to have finally left, she turned away but suddenly overheared him mumbling about being lost. He then called out to Yerin, seemingly having forgotten her but she tolds him to shut up and follow her if he wanted to get to Yellow Rock Village.

Yerin frustratedly led the man through the forest, passing an acquaintance on her way, until they reach the entrance to Yellow Rock Village. With her job seemingly done, the man asked if he could buy her a meal in gratitude and Yerin accepted his proposal. He thanked her, getting her name confused, and introduced himself as Doh Gyeom. At the tavern, Yerin and Doh Gyeom were taken out by drugged food and kidnapped. They then took Gyeom and Yerin away. While travelling through the forest, old man Hwang the ginseng man spotted them and hurried to the tavern to relay the news.

Elsewhere, the prison guards eyed up Yerin's unconscious form. One of them then tore her top, believing Yerin to have valuables on her person, only to find her wearing charms. Finding them creepy, the charms were tossed aside and the men continued searching her person. The prison guard, mentioning it was hard to search Yerin while her hands were tied, sliced open Yerin's bindings to make it easier, only for a freaky pale woman to thank him. The pale woman then asked if he was rescuing Yerin, causing him to reel backwards in shock. With the man visibly unnerved, the woman concluded he was trying to harm Yerin eliciting a violent response from the man. The guards were then taken out by supernatural phenomena. Eventually, Gang Ryong arrived in time to save Yerin.

Later, Yerin finished ridding the environment of the spirits as Ryong returned from his battle with Doh Gyeom. Silently looking on solemnly, Yerin noted that people died, probably because of her. With Ryong asking if she needed a minute, Yerin brushed it off and the two finally leave. On their way, Yerin asked what happened to Gyeom, and Ryong nervously replied that they sorted it out "amicably".

Stirring[]

Gang Ryong asked for an extended leave of absence, much to Chohyang's displeasure. Giving him an ultimatum to either stay or quit, Ryong firmly chose the latter and thanked Chohyang for her kindness.

Later, with Ryong readying to leave, Yerin gave him some food and money for his journey. All set, Ryong headed off on his journey.

Season 2 Intro[]

Soh Jinhong stopped by and asked if the fatty that had worked at the tavern had quit and Chohyang answered that he quit a year ago, with Yerin clarifying that it had been 8 months and 11 days since Gang Ryong had quit.

Having found out that Gang Ryong had already left in search of his enemy, Doh Gyeom came back to the tavern-on-the-fork two months later, asking to be their new delivery boy. With Chohyang and Yerin mentioning that none of the other replacements lasted more than two days, Gyeom said he could do it.

Some time later, on her way back from buying groceries, Yerin bumped into Jin Garyeong. With the two trading snide comments, and Garyeong claiming she had received a letter from Gang Ryong, Yerin ignored her and moved on her way. Hwang Gyu hoped down and asks if she was telling the truth, but Garyeong replied that it was a lie and she had only just located Ryong

Later at the tavern-on-the-fork, the news of the Tooth Killer's capture and incarceration was talked about, with the manner that the Tooth Killer was found being likened to Wang Ahk's capture. Overhearing this, Chohyang noted to Yerin that Gang Ryong was slowly making his way back.

Mak Sapyeong[]

Yerin was crowded by pigeons informing her that many of their regular customers were missing. Suddenly, a group of hooded people entered the tavern and Yerin noted that they were the ones that took everyone away. She then used her Dragon Sight to take down the hooded group and Jin Garyeong revealed her, angry that they didn't come along with them. At that, Yerin got mad at Garyeong for ruining the place. She and Chohyang went along with the Baekma Valley's plans to take on Mak Sapyeong and faked their kidnapping.

Later in a cavern, the villagers of Yellow Dragon Mountain enjoyed the time before Yerin decided to go for a walk. Meanwhile, having been enshrouded by the River Dragon Armour and shown some harrowing images of the Heavenly Destroyer's past, Ryong was left stunned. With Ryong in the palm of his hand, a mysterious figure grinned while Yerin encountered a mysterious presence.

Revived Heavenly Destruction Sect[]

With the recent incident passing, everything seemingly returned to normal. However, Yerin checked the charm she placed in Ryong's hair tie and confirmed her suspicions of what she felt that day.

In the Yellow Dragon Mountain, on his way home from a delivery, Ryong helpped Yerin out with a problem. Asking if anything was on his mind, Ryong humorously avoided answering by telling her he had an uncontrollable appetite. Meanwhile, a mysterious person visited the tavern, greatly alarming Chohyang; at her great insistence he amicably left, noting he wouldn't be back. The remaining customers conversed on just who the mysterious person was, all of them giving wildly differing appearances. Yerin noted to Ryong that it was a high-level illusionist that had come by, taking Ryong's immediate attention. That night Yerin talked about the mysterious man with Ryong and gave him a light grilling.

Some time later as Gang Ryong and his allies took on the Revived Heavenly Destruction Sect at the Sky Gorge Mountain, Yerin became alarmed at the tavern and told Chohyang that she must go there and find him. Hong Ye-Mong suddenly dropped in for a cup of tea and after hearing of their plight, offered to take Yerin there.

Later, Hong Ye-Mong and Song Yerin's ride to the Sky Gorge Mountain came to a halt when they find the road they were taking destroyed. The cart driver informed Hong Ye-Mong that they would need to find another path, claiming it would take at least half a day to go around. Then Hong Ye-Mong told the driver to do so but Yerin chimed in, saying that she would get off and make it there on her own. When Hong Ye-Mong asked how the young lady planned to get to their destination, Yerin replied that she would traverse the cliffs and assured Hong Ye-Mong that she would choose the least steep route if the Ice Jade Empress of the Fan tagged along. Interrupting Yerin, Hong Ye-Mong complimented Yerin's eyes, personality, and kind heart and likened it to her younger sister's (Hong Ye-Mong has a younger half-sister named Hong Yerin), as well as noting that they had the same name. Hong Ye-Mong then said that she will take Yerin to their destination by riding the wind.

Eventually, they arrive at the Sky Gorge Mountain and entered through a massive hole in the ground. On the ground, Yerin informed Hong Ye-Mong that she found Gang Ryong and then greeted the young man, mentioning that the guardian spirit she put on him kept giving her bad news. Unable to reply, Gang struggled to deal with a headache and Yerin became aware of Hwan Sa's presence. Yerin used her Dragon Sight (Yong-an) to expel Hwan Sa from Gang Ryong. Yerin then undone the damage Hwan Sa did to his memories and restored the ones she erased from him. Yerin then consoled him as he struggled to deal with pain in his head.

After Gang Ryong killed Okcheonbi by consuming him, Yerin rushed over to aid him. With everything resolved, Song Yerin and Gang Ryong returned home and watched Gha Woobok happily reunite with his family, having been revived by Gang.

Loose Ends[]

A year later, Yerin was pregnant with Gang's child.

Five years later, after finishing their shift at the tavern, Yerin told Gang Ryong that Chohyang would return tomorrow so they went to pick up their daughter Myeong. After picking up Myeong from Gha Woobok's house, Gang soared home as he carried his wife and daughter.

Powers & Abilities[]

Known only to Gang and Chohyang, Yerin possesses miraculous powers, supposedly inherited from her late mother.[3] Of these, she is a capable medium being able to easily perceive and commune with deceased spirits. Yerin is also capable of discerning whether a person is being possessed by a spirit from a glance.[4] Yerin mentions that it feels like her mother is always with her, protecting her like a guardian spirit.[5]

Dragon Sight (용안 (龍眼), Yong-an): Yerin is noted to possess the mysterious and powerful "Dragon Sight".[6][7] While the abilities the Dragon Sight endows upon her is yet unknown, it appears she is capable of perceiving things remotely through the senses of animals (such as birds) as well as being able to communicate with them.[6]

Illusion Casting: She can cast extremely powerfully convincing and elaborate illusions that are capable of tricking powerful gosu of Doh Gyeom's level; the aforementioned gosu believed he was drowning in an ocean of blood before realising it was an illusion after it had been dispelled.[4] Yerin is apt enough with the skill that victims aren't even sure when the illusion is cast. It appears that Yerin is able to cast illusions through her eyes, which become black with two red concentric circles in them while she is doing so.
